Ambulance stretcher needs to achieve to provide good support and protection for patients:

1. Foldable structure design

A good ambulance stretcher has a foldable structure design.  This is to facilitate folding the stretcher and moving it to the ambulance to make better use of the space inside the ambulance.  It also helps to adjust the height of the stretcher according to the operator's needs.

2. Adjustable backrest

For the comfort of the patient, the backrest of the stretcher can be adjusted to help patients with lung discomfort or breathing difficulties.

3. Seat belt

A good ambulance stretcher includes seat belts.  This helps the patient to keep the stretcher still in the moving ambulance.  It avoids any extra injury to the suffering and helps to transfer the patient to the hospital bed without slipping.

4. Equipped with guardrail

The reversible guardrails on both sides of the ambulance stretcher can protect the patient during the transfer process and prevent the patient from falling off the stretcher during the transfer process and causing secondary injury.

5. Has good bearing performance

Must be able to withstand heavy patients.  Should be made of a high-quality metal alloy that can withstand heavyweights.  The alloy also helps keep the stretcher light.

6. Comfort and hygiene

Pads on stretchers must provide comfort to the suffering patient.  There should be no pressure on the patient's back.  Also, the fabrics used should not infect them and can be easily disinfected if necessary.

7. Move freely

The ambulance stretcher must be equipped with durable wheels to allow the patient to move smoothly and quickly.

8. Matching accessories

In order to provide better ambulance support for patients, ambulance stretchers also need to be equipped with necessary accessories, such as head immobilizers, saline racks, pillows, oxygen cylinder holders, etc.

An ambulance stretcher is a medical device that is used to lay down a person.  It is specially designed to be transported in an ambulance for use with facilities.  The ambulance stretcher is deployed from the ambulance when it arrives at the injured person who needs to be lifted and transported to the hospital.  It can be carried by two paramedics, one at each end, and is usually attached to the wheelbase to push along the wheels.

Stretchers are used in the medical industry to incapacitate disabled persons when they cannot walk, move or become unconscious.  Certain injuries, even unproven, require the use of an ambulance stretcher, such as suspected neck injuries.  At the scene of an accident, a neck brace can be worn on a person before placing it on a stretcher to avoid being taken away.  A stretcher eliminates the need for an injured person to perform unnecessary movements that could make their condition worse.

Ambulance stretchers are made of lightweight metal (usually aluminum) and are long, rectangular in shape with a comfortable length and width for a person to lie on.  It has handles at both ends so medical professionals can easily lift it.  Stretchers are sometimes used for padding for added comfort, but depending on the use of the injury, such as a spinal injury, no padding is used.

The carrying device is designed to be installed and transported in an ambulance.  Due to space and weight constraints, the size of the ambulance stretcher should be as small as possible, but still large enough to accommodate an adult.  They have special features that allow them to be easily removed, reinstalled and locked in place in the ambulance before discharge.

It is used to install special hospital stretchers, hub brackets and ambulance stretchers, ambulance beds and ambulance stretchers.  The lower shelf can be buffered and released.  The impact force from the protruding column and the brain makes the special stretcher car and the ambulance special stretcher to quickly cause bleeding, brain contusion, severe congestion and severe discomfort to the feet.  The device is simple in structure and convenient in installation and is suitable for promotion and application in various hospitals.

Considerations for Ambulance Stretcher use and air transport

1. Characteristics and impact of aircraft borne casualties aircraft transport casualties are characterized by their speed, efficiency, level of comfort, and lack of influence from road, terrain, which can rapidly transport a critically ill casualty to a trauma emergency center or specialized hospital for treatment. But aircraft transport casualties also have deficiencies. For example, as the flight height rises, the amount of oxygen in the air decreases and the partial pressure of oxygen decreases. Patients with cardiopulmonary insufficiency are exacerbated by low oxygen levels. In addition, when the plane rises and falls, lifting and falling changes in air pressure can swing the injured mediastinum with open pneumothorax and worsen dyspnea; Casualties with abdominal surgery may cause or aggravate bloating, pain, and rupture of wound sutures. Aircraft noise, vibration, bumps may also cause casualty faintness, irritability, nausea, vomiting.

2. Nursing points for air transport

(1) Prepare the Ambulance Stretcher from China manufacturer well before transfer and check the performance and backup of various medical devices.

(2) Position of casualty on plane: large vehicle, casualty can be placed in second row across, with passage in the middle, facilitate medical amplification personnel patrolling and treatment, when air transport is implemented for the patient, casualty with combined respiratory and circulatory dysfunction should be alert head to head, casualty with cerebral edema should be heading head to head to reduce intracranial pressure and reduce cerebral edema.

In case of helicopter, the casualty should be placed on the stretcher layer by layer from top to bottom. Critical casualties are best placed in a lower level to facilitate salvage. As professional rescue planes should be shipped, a safer and comfortable environment for patients is provided, which guarantees a smooth arrival at the hospital.

(3) Sudden falling off of the aircraft can easily lead to hemodynamic changes that cause syncope, vomiting, or rapid breathing and heartbeats.

(4) High air temperature, humidity lower: tracheotomy intubated patients should be equipped with a nebulizer, humidifier, etc., to keep the air moist, to prevent thick and crusted tracheal secretions, blocking the airway. Or instillation of 1-2 ml of normal saline and antibiotics into the trachea in a timely manner, with repeated human drip and aspiration, to keep the clean and moist. On endotracheally intubated air sacs, to avoid inflation by air pressure reduction and to compress the tracheal mucosa causing ischemic necrosis, the amount of air injected into the air sacs should be appropriately reduced. Pending landing of the plane and resupply appropriately.

(5) The patient with cerebrospinal fluid leakage caused by trauma, because the low air pressure will increase the leakage volume, to be protected with multiple layers of sterile gauze, strictly preventing retrograde infection.

(6) When the head and face trauma waves over the middle ear and paranasal sinuses, the air may enter the cranial cavity by this, causing increased intracranial pressure - it can be dripped inside the nasal cavity with vasoconstrictors such as human ephedrine and epinephrine to keep the middle ear cavity and the outside world clear.

(7) Comatose patients because of corneal dryness caused by the exteriorization of the eyeball, to time the drop of chloramphenicol eye drops, eye ointment and eye globes applied to sterile gauze to protect.

(8) Note the protection of various catheters placed on the casualty.

(9) Do a good job room quarantine and disinfection, find out that patients with infectious diseases should take immediate measures, be treated with isolation after reaching the transport endpoint, that casualties have been handled, should be thoroughly cleaned of cabins soiling, garbage, and subjected to cabine disinfection.
