FAQ
For people with mobility impairments, moving from one place to another is not only laborious but also may cause secondary injuries. Patient lifts can assist in moving patients, help them use the toilet, take a bath, eat, and so on, meeting their daily needs.
1. How to choose the best patient lift?
·Pay attention to dimensions
The main parts of the user's body that bear pressure are the ischial tuberosities, thighs, buttocks, and scapular areas. Therefore, it is important to check whether the dimensions of these parts are appropriate to ensure the user's comfort and safety.
·Seat width
If the seat is too narrow, it will make it difficult to move the upper and lower limbs, and the buttocks and thighs will also be compressed; if the seat is too wide, it will be hard to sit stably, inconvenient to operate, and easily cause fatigue in both lower limbs.
·Seat length
If the seat is too short, the weight will mainly fall on the ischium, which is likely to cause excessive local compression; if the seat is too long, it will compress the popliteal fossa, affect local blood circulation, and easily irritate the skin.
·Seat height
When placing the footrests, the surface of the footrests should be at least 5 centimeters above the ground. If the seat is too high, it will be inconvenient to sit at a table using the transfer chair; if the seat is too low, the ischium will bear too much weight.
2. What are the limitations of using a patient lift?
