How Much Does a Hospital Bed Cost?
Hospital patient beds are typically classified into manual and electric types, each equipped with different functionalities based on specific requirements, such as back elevation, leg flexion, height adjustment, bed tilt, lateral turning, and weighing systems. These features significantly affect hospital patient bed costs, ranging from $140 to $3,000. In addition, hospital patient beds require various accessories, including mattresses, mobile dining tables, and bedside cabinets.
Manual hospital patient beds offer fewer functions and accessories and are controlled via a hand crank, making them generally more affordable. Electric hospital patient beds are controlled via a controller, providing greater convenience and ease of use, but they are slightly more expensive.

What Else You Need to Buy for a Hospital Bed
Generally, the beds you buy only include the bed frame, which comprises the main body of the bed, the headboard and footboard, and guardrails. You will also need to purchase some bedding, such as mattresses, table tops, sheets, and other accessories.
Mattresses
Most hospital patient bed suppliers do not include mattresses as standard equipment, so you will need to select and purchase them separately. First, choose a mattress of the appropriate size based on the hospital bed you have purchased. There are also special material mattresses, such as pressure relief mattresses, which can effectively prevent pressure ulcers caused by prolonged bed rest.
Sheets
Since hospital patient beds have different dimensions than standard beds, special sized sheets are required. We have created a guide on how to select hospital sheets and bedding to assist you in purchasing the appropriate sheets.
Optional Accessories
Optional functional accessories typically include: CPR one-touch reset, weighing system, mattress, movable tray table, and bedside cabinet. Additionally, bed footboard and guardrails can be customized with the right materials according to your requirements.
